Who is the VIP in this ministry update? That would be the Giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:7). And because He has been at work through our combined efforts, we have some some Very Important Prayers to offer in return!
Ministry Updates – A new series
Our Belize team had a GREAT week together. I did one photo post after we returned (see it HERE). But that post didn’t begin to convey what a great ministry we got to share. As I was trying to catch up with several details and opportunities (see below), I tried to figure out the best way to say more about the Belize mission. It turned into frustration. There just wasn’t a way for one person to share it all. That thought brought the solution!
I have asked several of the team members to share their experiences and thoughts on the week. And you should know each of them were eager to take advantage of the opportunity. So what they have chosen to share will appear here over the next several days. Each post will be linked to our sociall media pages (Facebook, LinkedIn, Gab). And in addition, we will send them out to our mailing list on Tuesdays and Fridays. There are some good reasons for that.
First, we want everyone to have the opportunity to hear about God’s work in our mission week. Second, the social media landscape has changed greatly in the last 2-3 years. Many folks have abandoned Facebook and Twitter for other outlets. So using other platforms as well as our mailing list is very necessary for good communication. With that said, look for a Friday email update. It will have links to the first posts in this series.
New Ministry Opportunities
When we see God at work, we should move to join in that work. Why is that true? That’s what Jesus did!
Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does. Yes, and He will show Him even greater works than these, so that you will be amazed.
That’s from John 5:19-20. And if Jesus’ work was to engage in what He saw the Father doing, how much more is that necessary for us? And that’s why there are some VIP concerns – Very Important Prayer concerns!
I’ll share more about these as we mail the Belize mission team series noted above. But the opportunities and needs fall under these headings:
- Pastor Training in Columbia (South America!)
- Pastor Training in Guatamala
- Re-opening ministry in La Romana, Dom. Rep.
- End-of-Year Giving (vital to fund 2023 mission opportunities)
- Helping Hands to staff EquipUs mission teams
As long as I am updating everyone… We certainly want to remember our team that is headed to Barahona. We leave SOON – November 5! This is where we teach the largest number of pastors at one time. Part of our team will be continuing the work on the church in Batey 8. And about that…
The estimates came in on the total construciton costs. We are expecting a donation that will cover the majority of the costs. If that comes in as expected, we will still need about $2,000.00 to fully fund this round of work. So you can do at least TWO of Three things:
- Pray for our team and their work
- Share the need for donations with your church, Bible study groups, etc.
- Make a donation HERE
That’s it for today. Remember: God is good and always at work for His glory and our good.
Soli Deo Gloria!
