Do This In Remembrance of Me
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you…
Throughout his letters in the New Testament, the Apostle Paul consistently encourages all followers of Christ to:
- Look up to God in total dependence and complete devotion
- Build up one another in faith and love
- Lift up Jesus as Savior and Lord, the only hope for the world.
Christ revealed Himself to Paul on the road to Damascus and Paul’s life was radically changed. Hearing the voice of God and seeing the Light, he received the Word. Subsequently, his life took on a whole new purpose and meaning. His gratitude was repeatedly proclaimed. It was his motivation to not only live his faith, but to faithfully pass it on.
Seven Day Challenge
As believers, we do not need to be baptized more than once. However, we can experience communion as often as we want.
My challenge to you is this: beginning with breakfast tomorrow, for the next seven days (21 meals), deliberately pause for a moment before you eat, and remember his body and His blood and what this means to you.
You don’t have to tell anyone what you’re doing. Just take a moment to reflect and give thanks. You may well find that gratitude can have a powerful effect.
If you accept this challenge, comment below and let us know when you plan to start. We’d like to pray for you. What the Apostle Paul received is ours, too.
For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. John 1:16
