Two Kinds of People in the World

texas bornThere are two kinds of  people in the world! How many answers have we heard? Given the State of my birth, I like, Texans and those that wish they were! From the State where I live, we hear, Alabama/Auburn fans and those that wish they were! And for ages the Church has answered, There are two kinds of people, those who believe and those who don’t. Regarding the Church’s answer, I’m wondering if there aren’t three kinds of people!
The first group is, I Don’t Believe. These folks are pretty straightforward. I don't believe in youIt is often easy to have a ‘faith conversation’ with them. By whatever process they arrived at their conclusion, they are fairly open and honest about it. One of these folks approached me one evening after I had preached in a crusade service. The girl requested I pray for her. I asked if she was a believer. She was not. I then shared with her how she could have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She was polite, but declined.
I was somewhat puzzled. So I asked why she would want me to pray to Someone she didn’t believe in? That was a challenge for her and there wasn’t a good  answer. Yet, it didn’t change her desire for me to pray for her. I prayed for her regarding the need she disclosed. And rest assured, I also prayed for her salvation.
as the fatherJesus was sent to people like this young woman. Remember the woman at the well? And if Jesus was sent to people like these, then so are we. Why? Jesus the Father’s sent One and He said to us…

As the Father sent Me, so send I you.

There are two kinds of people (or three for this series). If the I Don’t Believe bunch is the first group, then the second group is, (see the next post!).

Soli Deo Gloria!
