Mulligan’s Island? Yes! Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale... Sorry. For me, the fun has already started! But here’s what you need to know about the EquipUs Fun Fest on May 14.
Mulligan’s Island Fun Fest
The operative word is FUN. There’s a great deal in store for those who attend this first-annual event. Our ‘Islanders’ will get to:
- Meet our EquipUs Board
- Get the latest on upcoming EquipUs volunteer opportunities
- Spend time with other folks who have fun serving others
- Enjoy a great dinner
- Receive an EquipUs gift collection
- Come as any character from the Gilligan’s Island TV series (optional)
- Meet ‘Skipper’ and ‘Gilligan’ – I could tell you their real names!
- Compete for costume prizes (and there will be other prizes, too!) ir ao site
- And maybe win the $10,000.00 prize!
Say what?!?!? Yes. That’s the prize for the hole-in-one contest. O yeah!. The event is at TopGolf in Huntsville. But I didn’t start there. If I had, some would immediately think: I’m not a golfer so I don’t need to go. WRONG! That’s exactly why the focus is on the fun.
Now, if you’ve never been to TopGolf, I can’t explain it. But don’t think of it as golf on the grass golf course. It’s not putt-putt either. It’s a lot more fun! AND…we can have the event rain or shine – weather is not a factor.
Mulligan’s Island: Save The Date
Our date is May 14, and the event starts at 5:00 p.m. We will begin with registration, EquipUs news and events, dinner, and a lot of high-tech, TopGolf fun. In the process, we will be supporting the work of EquipUs. We’ve called this a Fun Raiser. That’s not a typo! Yes, it’s a bit of a word play. Mulligan’s Island is a fundraising event. But it’s as much about getting together for a fun time as it is letting Helping Hands raise ministry funds.
Tickets will be on sale in a day or two. Sales will be handled online through a service provider whose business is ticket sales for all kinds of events. I share that to say there should be no issues or glitches with ticket sales. We will post links on this website and on our Facebook page but the sales are not handled on our sites. But wherever you see a ticket or a promotion, you’ll see the Mulligan’s Island picture that’s at the top of this post.
One More Fun Word
Let me encourage you to get ‘your team’ together for this event. The TopGolf teams are six players each. So if you want to get five friends to play with you that will add to your fun and make our job a little easier. And in the fun spirit, I have some suggestions for naming your team. You can choose your own, or take one of these on a first-come-first-served basis:
