Manos Amigas Orphanage

We worked to help some amazing boys. The orphanage in Barahona was part of last week’s mission effort. Today, I’d like to introduce you to some of these incredible boys. I am sure you will want to help them as well. The good news is, there is more than one way to do that!

Meet Augusto

Agusto Orphange BarahonaAugusto is a charming 12 year old. He is in the 5th grade. He has six siblings. His dad is deceased. Biology is his favorite subject is school. His favorite foods are chicken and rice. He likes to play and work. His favorite sporting activity is NASCAR. Augusto wants to be a politician when he grows up. To say Augusto is very friendly and loving is an understatement. He will win your heart in a beat. And that has been true with many mission team members who have met him.

Meet Alberto

Alberto Orphanage BarahonaAlberto is 17 years old. He is in the 9th grade. He has 10 siblings. His mom is deceased. Alberto’s favorite subject in school is math. He likes all types of food. He says his best friend is God. He likes to write music and sing. Alberto likes to play basketball in his spare time (and he’s pretty good at it!). When he grows up, Alberto wants to be a pilot. Alberto is a helpful person as well as a quiet person. He enjoys solitude and time to himself.

Meet Bioff

Bioff Orphanage BarahonaBioff is 14 years old. He is in the eighth grade. He has four siblings. Bioff’s favorite school subject is natural science. His favorite sport is basketball. He enjoys swimming, shopping, and visiting the beach. His favorite food is fried chicken. His best friend is Yeude (Jodie – orphanage director). When he grows up, Bioff wants to be a painter and a scientist. Bioff is something of prankster and likes to joke around. He is very outgoing, friendly and loving.

Helping the Orphanage

These brief bios will be used to help gain monthly support for the boys. When those efforts become public, I’ll be sure and post appropriate links. If monthly support is not something you could do when the time is right, then please consider joining a mission team. Last week’s team had many things to do. Helping the boys and the orphanage was just part of our time in Barahona. As always, the time we spent on mission was a huge blessing to us!

Soli Deo Gloria!
