Help Needed! How does building, no hands, and help needed go together? Help Needed gets posted on a marquee or a storefront window to attract job applicants. But helping with no hands? What’s that about? It’s not as big a puzzle as it might seem! And these things go together in amazing ways.

The Building

Our ‘default’ concept of the Church is the building. You and I are the Church. Scripture calls us the body of Christ. But the building idea isn’t wrong. But that concept isn’t physical, it’s spiritual. Peter was inspired to write:

And coming to Him as to a living stone which has been rejected by men, but is choice and precious in the sight of God, you also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

Did you see it? …you also, as living stones…spiritual house… There it is. We are the building, God is the Builder and Christ is the Foundation. And this has a great deal to do with our mission in Belize. Let’s keep going!

Without Hands

How do we build without hands? Bottom line, we can’t. But that’s no problem for the One Who spoke the universe into existence. Creation was by the Word of God – without hands! And He isn’t done. This idea applies to you and me and all who believe. Paul wrote:

For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

Do we have a home in heaven. Absolutely! Was it made with hands? Not according to II Corinthians 5:1. So could help needed possibly apply to any of this?

Help Needed

Obviously, God doesn’t need help. But He does let us participate in what He is doing meine seite. Added to that, He rewards us for our labors! But you and I need help and we have the opportunity to help each other in Kingdom endeavors.
Next week, an EquipUs team will be on the ground in San Pedro Columbia, Belize. Why will we be there? To build up the body in Christ in San Pedro Columbia and the surrounding area. How will that be done? First by equipping pastors and leaders with the Word of God – building up the spiritual house. As previously noted, this will begin a new cycle of ministry that should extend over the next 4-6 years.

But we also will be constructing a physical house – a church building. Why? Because our brothers and sisters in San Pedro have been very faithful to win others to Christ. We are going to join our hands with their hands to begin a much-needed, and larger new building. Why? So even more people can have a future that includes a home made without hands!

Think about that. Building with hands so others we don’t yet know can have that home made without hands. But TWO things are needed. First, please pray for our time there. Second, the help needed sign is out for construction supplies. Donation links are here and helping with supplies is the second way you can have a part in houses made without hands!

Soli Deo Gloria!
