Internet Interests is a new addition. And that means you need to know the What and the Why! And this post will also get to Who. So let’s go through those three W’s.
Internet Interests – The What
The Internet is the modern public square. And that ‘square’ contains more people and organizaitons than we can imagine. There are people and groups that are totally at odds with Biblical truth and ministry organizations like your church or EquipUs.
On the other hand, there are people, groups and service providers who have varying degrees of overlap with our audience. And if we can connect with some of those people/groups, then the internet has served us well. But how can we cut through all the things we don’t like or don’t want to find the ones with which we share some measure of common ground?
Internet Interests – The Why
People cannot engage with us if they don’t know we exist. And that is why increased awareness is one of our big needs. To that end, I’m getting some help identifying people who have a degree of alignment with this audience and our ministry.
The purpose is to collaborate where or how we can. The obvious things would be writing guest posts for each other, podcast interviews or service promotions just to name a few. Here’s an example:
I can invite a guest writer to publish a post here and that gives our audience something helpful. They return the favor and I do a guest post for them, then their readers will get something valuable. Both writers will probably pick up a few new subscribers and that helps both of us.
With that explanation, Internet Interests is how I will share some of these things with you. Our ‘regular’ posts and newsletters will continue as they have.
And no matter who the author or speaker may be – including me – always be like the Bereans (Acts 17). They heard Paul preach and checked his sermons against the Word of God to make sure he was giving them truth.
Soli Deo Gloria!
As noted above, a couple of my posts were recently shared with a Counselor’s audience and now it’s my turn. So that brings me to the Who of this post…
