What does 412 have to do with prayer, praise and EquipUS? Were there children at your house Christmas who were beside themselves with excitement? That’s an accurate description of me. But my excitement comes from things much more important than gifts under the tree!
I have spent a great deal of time and energy asking everyone to engage in prayer. Prayer has a great deal to do with 412. I know a great number of people who have been faithful in prayer. Only God knows how many more there are. I’m sure I’m only aware of a fraction of the total. The number I am aware of is unimportant. God’s people engaged in prayer and that is important!
When our Father answers prayer, praise is in order. In fact, praise should be accompanied by thanksgiving. And we shouldn’t be stingy with either one. We praise Him according to His excellent greatness. How great is He? That’s the degree to which we praise Him. In Psalm 26, David said it this way:
That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving and declare all Your wonders.
Declaring the wonders of God is praising Him. And I can assure you there is a difference between thanksgiving proclaimed and thanksgiving mumbled.
412 & EquipUS
You may already have a good idea what 412 is. The EquipUS Pastor Training School continues to be a source of thanksgiving and praise. EquipUs mission volunteers continue to give their time, talent, and treasure to invest in others. The pastors we are investing in are making a huge difference in their churches and communities. The work of these pastors and their churches has resulted in 412 new Christians since March of this year. If that’s not worthy of some big time praise and thanksgiving I don’t know what is.
Planting New Churches
You now have some further insight into the opportunity to plant churches. God is blessing. We will need prayer. When God answers we will stop and give Him praise. We will celebrate the work of our EquipUs mission volunteers and the faithfulness of those we are equipping.
You can be a EquipUs volunteer even if you don’t travel with a mission team. Let me suggest you begin by praying. Specifically, pray about a gift to this ministry to help our work in 2022. Only God knows where those prayers will lead and what they will accomplish!
