Mastering Manhood: Imitation

Children imitate their parents. This is such a part of our lives that the Apostle Paul used this imagery to instruct the church:

Be imitators of God as dear children. Ephesians 5:1

Jesus Our Example

And imitation is our first principle for mastering manhood. Our children are master imitators. We are told to do the same. So what did the only perfect Father do with His Son?
The following verses are the basis for our opening discussion! Study them, because they hold the keys we need for Mastering Manhood.

Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen one in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations. Isaiah 42:1

And behold, a voice out of the heavens said, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased. Matthew 3:17 (Mark 1:11 & Luke 3:22)

While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him! Matthew 17:5 (Mark 9:7 & Luke 9:35)

For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 2 Peter 1:17

To the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.Ephesians 1:6

Soli Deo Gloria!
